Name: Russell Taylor Relationship details: Commander Taylor is one rank below Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson. When Brenda came to work for Priority Homicide four years ago, Taylor tried to sabotage Brenda's career and reputation without success. BRENDA'S BACKSTORY

Brenda's bio: Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Brenda Johnson studied Criminal Science at Georgetown University. After graduation, Brenda worked for the DC police department before accepting a job with the Central Intelligence Agency. After seven years of CIA training, Brenda worked for the Atlanta Police Department before accepting a job with the Los Angeles Police Department's Priority Homicide Division.

SEASON 1 HIGHLIGHTS

Brenda turned down a job with Homeland Security to work with LAPD. It was revealed she had an affair with Pope while they worked together in D.C.. Pope was married at the time and since divorced his first wife and remarried.
We learn in "Show Yourself" that Brenda had worked for the CIA for 7 years; 4 years for DCPD and 3 1/2 years in Atlanta PD.
Brenda went through an ethics inquiry in Atlanta for sexual misconduct.

SEASON 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Brenda and Fritz move in together. Brenda's mother comes for a visit forcing Fritz to move all of his belongings back out to the U-haul.
Brenda turns 40
Brenda has a pregnancy scare in "Head Over Heels."
In order to get her team back together Brenda must help her former employer (the CIA) find a murderer.

SEASON 3 HIGHLIGHTS

Brenda is forced to suspend Gabriel b/c of his actions with a suspect.
Brenda and Fritz goes house hunting
Brenda becomes is attacked by a serial killer, and then shot at while escorting a reporter around
Learns she is going through early onset menopause, and has surgery
Brenda and Fritz get engaged and fight about him being a recovering alcoholic
