He has a Master's Degree in Public Administration from USC (University of Southern California) and is contemplating the idea of someday going into politics. In Season Three, 'Til Death Do Us Part One, he introduces himself as Sgt. David Gabriel, Ph.D., but there is no explanation for the sudden educational elevation, which leads viewers to believe that Ph.D actually stands for P.H.D. (Priority Homicide Division).
